Edinburgh Road trip

Friends trip out

Each year Bern and Lexi travel from Cambridge on an amazing bike trip to go and see the comedy at the fringe festival in Edinburgh. Along the way its all about great roads and fun riding.

The pace is reasonably gentle and it's about the experience not so much about how many miles can be crunched in a day. Accommodation is always first class and Bern more than often gets a very good price. Stops for lunch and coffees are always important and planned to compliment the ride.

We are inviting pupils who have passed with Camrider to come and join us on the ride. This is not a course or a commercial venture, just a chance to enjoy biking with friends. What you pay is what it costs us to book the rooms and no more. You can go off route if you like, choose what you like to do in Edinburgh. For Bern and Lexi the highlights are a great ride over 3 days and then 3 days and nights chilling in Edinburgh watching the comedy shows and sights (we stop in town and rest the bikes whilst in Edinburgh). We then return via the lake distict and Peak District. If you want to ride out on the Edinburgh days too then there are great rides in the highlands to be had, but we will be in the bars.

Edinburgh Tattoo

The route
95% is off motorway - all A roads, B roads and some occasional very twisty tracks with stunning countryside. We will go past Monsal Head, Snake Pass, Dales Roads, Scotland Border roads, Edinburgh City Centre, Lake District roads and many more.

To come along you will need

  • Your own large cc motorcycle, tax, MOT if needed and good tyres with plenty of tread.
  • Bikes Must be in very good working order and not at risk of breaking down
  • Riders need to reasonably competent but not expert. This is not for novices, nor is it for advanced riders. If you are a recently passed rider with a couple of thousand miles under your belt then this could be the trip for you.
  • Have room for luggage safely on your bike. Proper bags, boxes or storage
  • Have breakdown cover and propper insurance on your bike
  • Have a fun personality and enjoy other people's company
  • Not expect anyone to carry your bag.. this is a friends road trip

What is included?

  • Hotels/B&B have been booked for each night of the trip Sat to Fri
  • Radisson Blue on the Royal Mile for 3 nights in Edinburgh (four star, as central as you can get and has a swimming pool)
  • Secure indoor parking for Edinburgh in the hotels multi story car park
  • Fawlty Towers dining comedy show booked (this always sells out)
  • Price is per room, up to two people per room - double or singles should be able to be arranged - check with us
  • Route planning
  • Nothing much else - this is a friends ride out at cost, not a commercial course

If you would like more information call Lexi on 01223 835348 by Wednesday 3rd August or email information@camrider.com with contact details including a phone number. There are only a very small amount of places left and are allocated by draw if oversubscribed.
