EU 3rd Directive
Issued January 2006
This sets out further changes to the motorcycle test, there have as yet been no final agreement between member states, but when it comes it will mean big changes.
Their proposals are:
- Raise the age of Direct Access from 21 to 24.
- Change the types/size of bikes used for the test. There could be an additional 2 levels for tests which would mean that companies like CAM Rider will need a further 2 types of bike of various engine size.
CAMRider’s Managing Director Bernard Adams is involved with the Motorcycle Rider Training Association (MRTA) with the aim of lobbying the Government to ensure that motorcyclists do not get squeezed off of the U.K.’s roads.
