Why train at Bedford?
We provide expert motorcycle training for the Bedford area. This includes Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), Direct Access courses, Standard licence, Advanced and all aspects of learning to ride a motorcycle or moped. Our staff are fully DVSA qualified with decades of experience. Most importantly, Camrider has a very rigorous staff selection, training and continuous professional development program. For us it’s not enough to be a qualified instructor, our trainers are selected and assessed in kindness, good humour, interpersonal skills and the importance of being a mentor to new riders who need to feel safe, happy, and valued.
Our top notch courses are specifically designed by qualified educationalists to meet your personal needs. After all, everyone is different and we make sure that you have a lesson plan that fits you, rather than a one size fits all approach. If you are a complete novice wanting to learn to ride a motorbike from scratch – to a more experienced rider with previous experience, we have motorcycle training packages to suit you!
Every course and lesson comes with the highest quality equipment: Loan motorcycles, helmets, jackets, gloves, waterproofs and first rate radio communications. Camrider has been able to invest in the equipment you need to be sure of a safe and happy progression through CBT to full test. We have trained over 240,000 people since we started in 1977 and have glowing references from our regular customers and many celebrities who choose Camrider to be the company to look after them.
We also operate a “One site” policy. This costs us more, but we know that it’s worth it to ease our customers through training. We have our classrooms, training pad and facilities all at one location so your time is spent learning in a relaxed environment and not on a minibus or pushing bikes from storage to off road pad. The time you spend with us will be entirely focused on coaching you through the syllabus. Your time is valuable and we recognise that new riders need confidence in their trainers and the facilities provided.

This aids nerves and helps new riders understand the little nuances of roads, junctions and roundabouts. Steve is a much loved member of the Camrider Team. He is a dedicated biker originally from New Zealand and with a massive passion for motorbikes. He currently owns 22 which he keeps in pristine condition and lovingly polishes on a weekly basis (we hope) .
Steve has proved to be a real hit with our customers who have consistently praised his calm, patient and encouraging instructing manner. On a recent DVSA inspection he also flew through with flying colours and we can genuinely say we are proud to have him onboard as a key member of our team.
As well as being a bike nut Steve is fully qualified as a computers systems engineer and we will be relying on him to get the 4g wifi running up at the Bedford site.
Jo is the Office Manager and another one of our friendly booking staff. Jo started off learning to ride by taking a CBT with Camrider, and a couple of years later she jumped at a chance to come and join the Camrider office team. Jo is a very efficient administrator who never lets a test date slip by. You will be very impressed by how she takes care of all the test details and makes sure the DSA are informed every step of the way. Jo has a great knowledge of motorcycle training. Combine this with her degree in public relations and we know you will find her a great friend when it comes to booking you in for a course.
Dan has been with Camrider for over 14 years and knows the booking process inside out. We all look to Dan to resolve complex law issues and on how best to schedule courses so they work perfectly for our customers. A key skill you will find with Dan is his attention to detail in making sure every aspect of your training package flows smoothly and connects at the right time. Definitely a very safe pair of hands. Dan also manages all the administration for our London Branch.
As well as working with Camrider Dan has become quite skilled in the art of fencing and you can find him battling down an opponent at the end of a foil on the evenings.

Did my first CBT and renewed it here in Bedford again with Kate and Dale, who are top professionals and wonderful people. They were very helpful and friendly during the session, and always attentive and motivational. I had my best time on a motorcycle training session here, and have to recommend this school and this team to everyone interested in starting to ride or wanting to refresh or improve their skills. On a quick update, must say that Mike’s tutoring was fundamental to help me pass the Mod2 test. This team is amazing!!!

Completed my DAS course with Camrider Bedford today!
After taking my CBT I was advised based on my ability to take the 4 day DAS course for my Cat A licence, which was 2 600cc sessions, Mod1, and Mod2 exams!
Training and practice was also given on the morning before the Mod1 and on the day of the Mod2 I felt more than confident after the instructors tuition.
I passed my CBT, and my Mods 1&2 first time, Dale, Katie and Mick, thank you ever so much for helping me to achieve this, to anyone consudering taking DAS or CBT I honestly can’t recommend these guys enough! Make sure you get in touch with Camrider Bedford! You won’t regret it!
And on top of this, Dale, Katie and Mick are great fun while instructing, whilst also remaining extremely informative and professional! Definitely a friendly approachable team that want nothing more than for you to pass and be a safe, competent rider.
I score you all 200 out of 10 🙌 Guys I’m glad you took over Bedford when I was ready to do my DAS! Thank you so soooo much! I will visit to see you again soon when I get my bike!

5 Stars for Camrider Bedford. Mike and Katie were excellent. Having not ridden for 9 years (on a 50cc scooter), Katie got me through my CBT quickly, with Mike assessing my road riding.
Rather than overcharging for several lessons, Mike suggested a 4 session Direct Access course (2 training days and 2 test days) to get my A license.
I passed with 0 rider faults, thanks to some of the very simple tips Mike reminded me of throughout my training.
The bikes were well maintained and had heated grips added – a must if you’re training in February! CamRider also supply waterproofs if you turn up in leathers and denim in the rain, like I did!
In addition, the service was brilliant, the team were welcoming and the course was very well priced. I would happily recommend CamRider to any friends or family (as friends did to me).
I’ll swing by to show you both the new bike soon!

Ladies and gents this is the place to go in Bedford if you have no clue what a bike is but you’d like to learn about it and how to handle one. Staff is really awesome and the atmosphere will be relaxed and proffesional at the same time.
