Camrider is an Approved Training Body licenced by the DVSA
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT)
CBT is a course of instruction and assessment for new riders wanting to ride a moped or geared motorcycle. It must be taken by any rider wanting to use a 50cc moped, or 125cc motorcycle before they get on the road using “L” plates.

a) UK provisional licence photocard
b) Minimum age: 16
What is included
- CBT certificate (DL196)
- Loan 50cc Moped or 125cc Motorcycle
- Petrol and insurance
- Loan helmet, gloves, jackets and waterproofs
- Expert instruction from DVSA qualified instructors
Full motorcycle test
Pass your full motorcycle test and ride a large cc motorcycle. Training is provided by our expert, DVSA qualified instructors and we provide a fully managed service including CBT, online theory practice, full DVSA training & the final practical tests.
Full Test
Entry requirements:
a) UK provisional licence photocard
b) Minimum ages:
24 years for “A” licence = Any cc any power
19 years for “A2” licence = Any cc max 47bhp power
c) A motorcycle theory test pass. You can start the course without this but will need a pass at least 10 days before your final tests

Our Motorcycle Training Services
From start to finish really good, nice clear booking system online or by phone. I had to change it with 9 days’ notice and they accommodated it no problem.
Facility is clean and well kept lots of car parking and bike parking available on-site.
Shop is well stocked with everything you need and the people who work there really know their stuff.
I went for my CBT and had Ian as my instructor; really good, calm, patient, good instructions. Me being a taller gentleman, they picked out the bike for me and made it a more comfortable and enjoyable day in general. Little things that make it so much better.

I completed my full licence course (7 sessions) with Camrider between April-July 2026 and couldn’t be happier with the whole process. Vicky provides plenty of clear, detailed instructions about timings, payments, what kit to wear etc. and although a lot of this is very strict she was able to be flexible with me when I called up to ask to switch to an afternoon session (although I did call several weeks in advance). I had two instructors over the sessions – Aaron and Matt, both very knowledgeable, experienced, and clear with their approach to instructing. I had completed my CBT with another company a year prior and felt that Camrider was just a much more professional and organised setup than the other place. I passed both my Module 1 and Module 2 on my first attempts thanks to all the advice and training given over the sessions. The motorbikes we used for training were also good quality and I was lent all the kit I needed. I’d highly recommend Camrider!

I completed my DAS course (7 day course) with Camrider Cambridge and honestly couldn’t recommend them enough!
I did my CBT separately, so on the first day I started on a 125cc, and from the second session onwards I was on a big bike. I wasn’t a very experienced rider beforehand I only knew the basics but the course was brilliant and really helped build my confidence and riding skills.
Aaron and Matt were absolutely fantastic. They were very helpful, patient and always gave great advice and tips. They teach you really well and genuinely want you to become a safer and better rider on the road.
Vicky was also amazing at organising everything, from the classes to the tests. Everything was arranged smoothly, and I didn’t have to wait long at all.
I wasn’t local to Cambridge either, but the whole team still made me feel confident and comfortable throughout the course and I passed everything first time!
100% recommend Camrider Cambridge to anyone looking to do their DAS.

From start to finish I can’t fault anyone at camriders in sawston. Everyone amazing from start to finish, vicky was brilliant. Always meeting you with a smile on the front desk. The instructors Matt and arron( congrats on the newborn sir) are very good and will help you go from zero to a rider. I’ve had zero experience on a bike when started and passed first time on all mods. They will teach you to a higher standard so you’re ready. Plus they are top guys as well. Can’t thank them enough and being very patient! To the other guys I was with on my training hope you’ve passed as well and I’ll see you all on the road soon 🤙 thanks again to everyone at camriders. I very recently completed my CBT with Camrider, and I could not recommend this test centre enough. The instructor was very thorough and taught everything in a very good way, both the practical and more theoretical elements. When I struggled with something, he always had a positive attitude and gave me constructive advice on how to correct my mistakes. Ultimately, thanks to that, I managed to pass my CBT!
For the length of the course (longer than at most test centres, from my prior reseach) this is a really good price.
I highly recommend Camrider in Cambridge!
(Also, thanks to the course, I know that I’ve developed a new hobby and a love for motorbikes. I can’t wait to buy my first one!).
